To our church whānau,
This past week we asked you as a church family to pray and seek God in response to the news that Joel and Katie have stepped down as the senior pastors at Curate. This has happened in the weekly Men’s Prayer time, in Board and Elders meetings, in Small Groups, and in homes - an opportunity to give God the space to work and to reveal what comes next. We take inspiration from the disciples who waited in prayer for the Holy Spirit, in unity and faith -
'They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.' Acts 1:14
OUR TRANSITION SEASON
Matt and Anika shared with us all that while we are in this transition season, we would update you as a church on Sundays, and on the Curate App - there is a section on the front screen called ‘Our Transition Season’. You can find information there about our current board and elders, and this will be the place to find any updates on changes as they occur. If you see the little 'Refresh' button at the bottom of the app, please tap that to update to the very latest content.
THE CURATE BOARD
At this time we would like to thank all of our Board members, past and present, who have worked tirelessly to serve the church in this capacity. The work of the Board is often unseen, but is essential to navigate many of the legal and governance aspects of church life. They have put in many hours of work, prayer and ministry over the time they have served, and we are so thankful for their voluntary service. A special thanks to Stefan Greenway, Rebecca Anderson, Joshua Fong, John Miller, Carl Simmons and Mike Edwards who have all served on previous boards and have decided over this last period of time to make way for new people to be on the Board for this next season. The Curate Board is currently working hard on pressing financial matters including restructuring our debt and reducing operating costs. You can find out more about that on the Curate App.
OFFICE SPACE AVAILABLE!
One way we are reducing operating costs is by moving our office at 42c Tawa Street back to the Newton Street building. In order for us to make this move, we need to find a new tenant for the offices. This could look like leasing the whole office building, or subleasing one or two offices. If you are looking for office space, or know of someone who is looking, please reach out to us at hello@curatechurch.com.
WE'D LOVE YOUR HELP
Another way that you can support us in this transition season is to become more active in the life of our church whānau. The people who serve on Team at Curate are the reason we have beautiful gatherings, communion, worship, Curate Kids, youth, prayer ministries, pastoral care, etc. Nothing happens without people serving! At this time more than ever, we need everyone in Curate to contribute where they can -
'God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another . . . . Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ . . .' 1 Peter 4:10-11
One of the key needs at the moment is supporting the next generation with serving in Kids, Intermediates, Youth and with Sunday Hosting. If you think you could occasionally volunteer in one of these areas, please get in touch.
We are encouraged by the stories of people discovering who God is and having their lives transformed by Him. It’s wonderful that even in this season of change that God is working alongside us, and that He will be glorified in our lives together!
For this transitional season the Curate Staff team is being led by Tony Crawford. He is working closely with the Board and Eldership as we transition in leadership and as we seek God about how our church will be led in the future. The staff are always grateful for your prayers and your support as they seek to guide the work of the church.
You can find out more of the opportunities to pray and worship together in the ‘Coming Up’ section below.
God bless, The Curate Team

WATER BAPTISMS
Coming soon!
We believe that if you have decided to follow Jesus, you should be baptised in water. This is something that Jesus did, and is a public declaration of our faith in Him. If you want to know more you can find out more on the website, or connect with one of our pastors.
