In Mount Maunganui we’re having special anointing gatherings in the morning where we are going to pray for every single person and if you would like, anoint you with oil, a practice deeply rooted in Biblical tradition.

Special services where we light the Advent candles and prepare our hearts in anticipation to celebrate the arrival of Jesus this Christmas. 

We’re kicking off the start of this new season with a celebration of all things Christmas! The decorations and lights will be up, the carols will be playing, and we’d love you to come dressed in your best Christmas outfit - Christmas sweaters, Santa hats and tinsel! This is such a special time of year and we’re looking forward to celebrating and sharing about the birth of Jesus our saviour.

We’re going to get together and have some fun this Sunday! Child dedications during the gathering and fun things afterwards (bouncy castles, face painting, etc) as we hang out and connect, all on a beautiful spring morning.

Child dedication is an act of worship, in which  Christian parents offer back to God the precious gift  He has given to them. In this act parents make a  commitment before the Lord to lead and spiritually  nurture their child in the ways of God with the help of  the Holy Spirit.

We’re gathering for a night of worship! Come and join us as we celebrate the Prepare the Soil offering. There is no kids programme on this night, but they are welcome to join us in worship.

In order to honour the financial commitments made by previous leadership and the financial rhythm and position of Curate Church, we are excited to let you know we have decided to have a “PREPARE THE SOIL” SPRING OFFERING. We will be taking up this offering on Sunday 29th October. We are praying and looking forward to seeing how we can contribute and invite you to do likewise.

This is an opportunity for those of us who are willing and in the position to do so to help prepare the soil in this season. We are hoping to raise $150,000 to help invest some nutrients into the financial foundation of our church. This will help us to be ready to receive and walk into all that God has for us moving forward.

It's pretty exciting to imagine what God wants to do in and through us as a church and although soil and foundation maintenance is never the most glamorous part of the gardening process, it's crucial. The hard work now will reap dividends when it's time to sow and harvest!

We will be hosting a public viewing of Mana Atua - The Power of God for Aotearoa. This is a powerful documentary film sharing the life of Luck Te Koha as he takes the love of Jesus into the lives of New Zealand’s gangs.

You can see a preview of the movie here. This film is recommended for a mature audience due to the adult themes. Childcare will not be provided. Please make your own arrangements for your children.

Grab your Dad or father figure and let’s celebrate together! Nick & Sarah will be with us, and we have food for all the men (and everyone else too!) after the gathering.

We’re looking forward to inviting Nick & Sarah in as our new Senior Pastors. We’ll worship together, hear from Nick & Sarah and share food together. Please bring a plate of yum food to share for lunch!

AUCKLAND LOCATION
Sunday 4th August
We’ll be commissioning Nick & Sarah in Auckland on the first Sunday in August.

This is going to be an incredibly special time to honour the incredible work Joel & Katie have done at Curate Church over the past 18 years. To allow time for everything we have planned, we’re going to mix things up and have just one 10am Gathering on this day, followed by a potluck lunch afterwards (bring some food along to share). After this Sunday the Milgate family are going to take some time to go away on a break, visiting good friends in America and Mexico.  

This is going to be an incredibly special time to honour the incredible work Joel & Katie have done at Curate Church over the past 18 years. Following a gathering of celebration and a bunch of baptisms, we will share a meal. This is being spear headed by our different small-groups taking on various aspects. If you'd like to contribute, you're more than welcome to bring a leg of lamb to church in the weeks prior to the 16th! 

After this Sunday the Milgate family will be celebrated in the Mount on the 23rd June before taking some time to go away on a break, visiting good friends in America and Mexico.
