November Update

Hi Church,

Praying all is well with you and your families as we near the end of November. Congratulations to all of our school leavers who are finishing up their final exams (and the parents who saw them through!) It's incredible to think that there are only five Sundays left until Christmas and we are excited to make each one count!  We know this can be a full season, so to help with your December planning, here are all the things you might want to know about at Curate, this Christmas season and into the new year.

Top off the rank is a joyful reminder that this Sunday is the LAST DAY you can sponsor a bag of groceries in our annual Gift of Groceries campaign! (This is because our food suppliers have set timelines around bulk order.) So if you'd like us to do the shopping for you by sponsoring a bag of groceries for those in need, click this link now. You can however still pick up a bag (or bags) from church on Sunday and pack it yourself using the provided grocery list.

The past few weeks we have been sharing about how as followers of Jesus we are 'Built Different'. We believe these are significant messages and if you have missed a message, we'd love to encourage you to catch up here -

As we approach Advent we get the opportunity to centre our lives anew on the God who is with us. Why not take the opportunity this Christmas season to intentionally devote yourself to growing closer to Jesus - and what a blessing to be able to do that alongside your church whānau. (See below for Advent Devotional as one tool to help you do this.)

God bless,

UPDATE YOUR DETAILS

We know that it is important to maintain an accurate database to better serve our valued church community. To ensure that we have the most up-to-date information about you, update your details here.  Alternatively, if you have decided that Curate Church is not the church community you belong to, you can let us know that here too.

Our annual Gift of Groceries project is coming up on the 8th - 9th December, 2025! We are aiming to be packing 600 bags of Christmas goodness and distributing them through organisations to individuals and whānau who are facing difficult circumstances. We know that Christmas can be a really hard time for many people both financially and mentally, so join with us as we spread some Christmas aroha!

WATER BAPTISMS - 30TH NOVEMBER

Water baptisms are coming up on 30th November at both of our gatherings. We believe that if you have decided to follow Jesus, you should be baptised in water. This is something that Jesus did, and is a public declaration of our faith in Him. If you want to know more you can find out more on the website, or connect with one of our pastors on Sunday.

For all people who serve at Curate Church - Sunday Gathering teams, Connect Group Leaders, Recovery team, mid week teams.

Bring your family and come celebrate a wonderful year with us! This year is Hawaiian Shirt themed, and it's going to be such a good celebration of the year we've had together!  Dinner from 4.30pm, Gathering 6-8pm.

We have amazing Sunday's planned for the whole of the advent season in December. We're reclaiming holy holidays, and are looking forward to having a Christmas Day Gathering at 9.30am! Plan to be there, it's going to be wonderful to gather on this special day when we celebrate Jesus' birth!

This Advent (beginning November 30th), we'd love to invite you to join us as we journey through the devotional ‘Come Let Us Adore Him’ by Paul David Tripp. You can find out more here, with links to the book and a 7 day reading plan in the YouVersion app.

We couldn’t be more expectant for what God is going to do this January in our youth at Camp Zeal! We’re believing for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and that He would ignite in them a fresh zeal for Him and His Church — that every student and leader would have a personal encounter with Jesus.

If you have young people in your life, you need to get them to Youth Camp! Find out more.
