To our church whānau,
By the time you read this email, we will have landed in New Zealand and are starting to settle into our new home in Mount Maunganui. We can’t wait for this Sunday, our first Sunday gathering whilst living in this beautiful country!
It’s also Fathers Day this Sunday and we would love to take some time to celebrate and honour all of the men in our church. We understand that Fathers Day can have mixed emotions for many. Whether Father’s Day represents celebration, or a time of sadness, we know that the best place you can be is with your church community. One thing to be certain of is this, God the Father is good, and we wholeheartedly believe Curate Church is filled with people who will laugh with you, cry with you, celebrate with you and pray with you.
In Ecclesiastes 3 it talks about there being “a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens . . .” We’re looking forward to moving into a new season at Curate, acknowledging the past and growing from where we are, to everything the Lord has for us as a church community. It really is our privilege to be a part of this stunning community. Can’t wait to get to know all of you, hear your story and to continue to work out our faith journeys together.
TIME TO CELEBRATE!
We have been hearing so many stories of all the good things God has been doing in Curate Church so far this year and the stories keep on coming! We’ve had salvations, water baptisms and incredible God breathed messages on Sundays. It’s encouraging to hear that weekly, people are continuing to join and serve on team as well as people starting to give and support the church financially. If Curate Church is home for you, can we encourage you to pray about the part you could play.
We have people who are hungry to learn more about walking with God through the Alpha Course and the ‘Practising the Way’ course on Mondays and a Recovery ministry that is going from strength to strength, meeting every Wednesday. We’ve had people serving on missions trips to Mexico and Vanuatu, youth gathering every Thursday and multiple small groups meeting right through the week. AND we’ve had many many prayer needs answered during this time as well (we’re going to share these on Sunday with you!) There’s so much for us as a Church to be thankful for.
While we know this has been a difficult season of transition in many ways, it is incredibly encouraging to see how God has still been at work, and to see the church continue to press into Him. We’re looking forward to this coming Sunday which is the start of a new season - Spring! See you then!
God bless, Nick & Sarah & the Curate Staff

MANA ATUA MOVIE SCREENING

We will be hosting a public viewing of Mana Atua - The Power of God for Aotearoa at Mount Curate (37 Newton Street). This is a powerful documentary film sharing the life of Luck Te Koha as he takes the love of Jesus into the lives of New Zealand’s gangs. You can see a preview of the movie here. This film is recommended for a mature audience due to the adult themes. Childcare will not be provided. Please make your own arrangements for your children.
CHILD DEDICATIONS
Sunday 15th September
Child dedication is an act of worship, in which Christian parents offer back to God the precious gift He has given to them. In this act parents make a commitment before the Lord to lead and spiritually nurture their child in the ways of God with the help of the Holy Spirit. If you would like to have your child dedicated, please let us know here.
WATER BAPTISMS
Sunday 6th October
We believe that if you have decided to follow Jesus, you should be baptised in water. This is something that Jesus did, and is a public declaration of our faith in Him. If you want to know more you can find out more on the website, or connect with one of our pastors.
