READ PHILIPPIANS 4:5
Gentleness is a ‘strong hand with a soft touch’. Gentleness is not weakness. It is strength! A gentle person speaks in a way others can receive. When you love Jesus, that will be shown by gentleness.
READ EPHESIANS 4:2
What do you think this means? When is a time you remember when you showed gentleness? How did it feel?
READ PROVERBS 15:1
What do you think this means? How does this work at home and at school?
Practice Time
The way we speak is important! We can use a gentle voice, but sometime we use other sorts of voices too. How can we say these things in a gentle way, and in a harsh way? Explore the different ways to say these sentences. Practise the gentle way (which can still be firm and strong!)“Please put the dishes in the dishwasher”“Please be quiet, your sister is asleep”
This Week
Focus on using a gentle voice when talking with others. Remember, gentleness isn’t weakness. It’s a super powerful fruit of the Spirit!
