The True Meaning of Christmas

Here in New Zealand, we celebrate Christmas every year — but have you ever stopped to wonder what it’s really all about? What does Christmas actually mean?

Well, the answer is right there in the name:

CHRIST - MAS

Christmas is all about Christ — Jesus Christ, to be exact. It’s the time of year when we celebrate His birth, which marks the fulfilment of prophecies, bringing salvation, hope, and peace to the world.

The message of Christmas is centred on Jesus, the Son of God. Over 2,000 years ago, He was born into this world, and the Bible describes His coming as Good News — news that brings great joy to all people. That message still rings true today. The message of Christmas is Good News!

Curate Church would love to invite you to hear more about the Good News, and celebrate with us at our Christmas Gatherings throughout December. We believe Christmas is a special time of year, and sharing it with community makes it even more meaningful.

Our gatherings are every Sunday at 9am and 11am, and we have a special Christmas Day Gathering on the 25th of December at 9:30 am.

You’ll find a warm welcome, food, fun, Christmas carols, kids’ programmes, and of course — free coffee and tea!
