Nehemiah 3:1–32 - It’s a family affair
Nothing great can be done alone. God puts the lonely in families because he knows we are always better together. I love what Ecclesiastes says in 4:9 ‘Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. 4:10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. 4:11 Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? 4:12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple–braided cord is not easily broken.’ Who do you have in your life that you could do something great alongside?
As we prepare for the offering include your family in the conversation, pray about it together, get your kids involved. If you share a flat, prepare to give together, stir each other on. Discuss it in your small groups. There is a lift that comes when we do things together.
Who do you have in your life you could encourage to be involved in the offering? Who is God leading you to pray for?
